Welcome to Restaurant Sandhu, a culinary gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Montréal. Specializing in the exquisite flavors of Indian cuisine, this restaurant tantalizes locals and visitors alike with a menu that strikes a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

As you step into Restaurant Sandhu, you’re greeted not only by the aromatic spices that waft through the air but also by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that invites you to relax and savor each moment. The space is adorned with subtle decor that reflects its cultural roots; it’s an ideal setting for both a casual meal or a celebratory dinner.

The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the Saumon Tikka à la mangue, an extraordinary dish that showcases marinated salmon, infused with zesty lemon, fragrant ginger, and garlic. This dish undergoes a careful marination process, allowing the spices of cardamom, coriander, and turmeric to penetrate deeply, resulting in a flavor explosion that will linger in your memory. Paired with fluffy rice and fresh vegetables, it promises to be a delightful culinary experience.

For those eager to explore a bit of everything, the Assiette de Dégustation indienne provides a perfect opportunity to sample an array of delectable bites, letting you experience the richness of Indian cuisine all on one plate. Priced at just CA$30.00, it allows you to embark on a gastronomic journey without breaking the bank.

While many visitors rave about the food, the service can sometimes be a mixed bag. As experienced by Jinal Bhate, the flavors can be impressive, yet the wait times might test your patience. However, savoring every bite of the delicious selections makes it worth the experience. Dinner companions have enjoyed various combinations, from robust lamb options to the much-loved Butter Chicken, known to be one of the restaurant's highlights.

Notably, the fusion of Indian and Italian cuisine has intrigued many, encouraging diners like Jean K. to venture beyond traditional boundaries. The restaurant's innovative dishes bridge tastes from both cultures, making it an exciting culinary destination.

As you consider your next meal in Montreal, make sure Restaurant Sandhu is on your list. The rich, flavorful dishes, combined with the unique blend of Indian spices, promise a memorable dining experience. Just remember: while the food takes center stage, being patient with the service may enhance your overall enjoyment.

This lively eatery is certainly worth a visit, whether you’re a local craving comfort food or a traveler seeking to explore the hidden culinary gems of the city.

Visited this place around 12pm on a Thursday as we saw samosa chat on their menu. The food was delicious but the service was extremely slow. The servers didn’t understand Indian palettes and was confused when we asked for extra sweet chatni that goes within the dish. Overall the experience was okish in terms of service but the food was really good. Might give it another try when we are in Montreal next.

Stopped by after climbing at Zero Gravite. It was late in the evening, 9pm ish, so not crowded at all. We were a group of three. We didn't need to wait for a table. We ordered plain naan, and a few dips. They all were tasty. I loved the veggie options more (e.g., the spinach). The lamb was good too. Chicken, I remembered it was a bit dry, not my favorite but the soup was good.

Very interesting concept. Italian and Indian, they have 2 different kitchen. We ordered mussels as well as multiple Indian dishes and they were all very good. At the end of the meal, tried the tiramisu and also it was generous, full of flavour. Love the combination, next time I’m trying the chicken butter poutine!

A group of us shared a bunch of different platters, all graciously prepared and served. It's located a bit far from the downtown core, but worth the detour. The waiter was great.

Everything is delicious. The sauces are particularly rich and loaded with flavour. The one complaint would be that the lentil dish is consistently much too salty. You need to specify if you'd like the sauce to be very hot. Vindaloo dishes are pretty reliably so.

Im not sure about parking here. Menu: many options all italian or indian cuisine. Very delicious , one of the best butter chickens here. The eggplant dish was a little disappointing and i did not finish it. Def recommend the palao rice!! Very kind staff, many places to sit and not crowded!
